Bi-Directional Amplifier or BDA systems increase mobile signal strength wherever it is weak or non-existent due to building materials, distance from cell towers, or obstructions such as other buildings that prevent wireless connectivity with nearest cell tower.
BDAs are usually intended for use by one building. They work by rebroadcasting cellular signals inside the building. The systems usually use an external, directional antenna to collect the best cellular signal, which is then transmitted to an amplifier unit that amplifies the signal, and retransmits it locally, providing significantly improved signal strength.
